Where to get an SRT or SRTLA relay

You need somewhere to send your stream, and a hosted SRT or SRTLA relay is the easiest answer. Here are the providers IRL streamers trust, what to look for, and what we are building ourselves.

What a relay does

A relay is a small hosted service that catches your stream, puts your bonded connections back together, and forwards a clean feed to your platform or OBS. It handles the public address, the SRTLA recombining, and the restreaming, so all you do is paste one link into the app. For the full walkthrough, see how to set up SRT streaming.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a relay to stream with Super Simple IRL?

You need a destination for your stream. A hosted relay is the simplest option, and it recombines your bonded connections for you. You can also send straight to your own OBS or server if you prefer.

Which relay host should I choose?

If you want bonding, pick one that supports SRTLA. Beyond that, choose a server close to you for lower latency, and check the bitrate and bandwidth limits fit how you stream.

Does Super Simple IRL host relays?

Not yet. We are building our own budget SRT and SRTLA hosts, but right now we are focused on getting the app right first. For now we recommend the providers on this page.

How much does a relay cost?

Most hosted SRT and SRTLA relays run a few dollars a month, depending on the provider, your bitrate, and bandwidth. Check each provider's pricing page for current rates.
