How to stream Subway Surfers from your phone

You can screen cast Subway Surfers live with just your phone. No PC, no capture card. Super Simple IRL grabs your screen and sends it straight to your stream, so every run goes out to your viewers in real time.

Why Subway Surfers is great to stream

Subway Surfers is a wildly popular endless runner by SYBO Games, and one of the most downloaded mobile games of all time. You swipe to dodge trains and obstacles, grab coins and power-ups, and chase a high score. The bright, fast, satisfying gameplay makes it a favourite as stream and background content.

It is easy to jump in and out of, so it fits around chatting with your audience. Each run is a quick burst of action, and the gaps between runs give you a natural moment to read chat, react, and keep the conversation going.

What you need

  • An Android phone with Subway Surfers installed.
  • Super Simple IRL on the same phone to capture and send your screen.
  • A streaming destination to receive the feed, such as a hosted SRT relay. See how to set up SRT streaming.
  • A quick read of the screen casting basics so you know how capture works before you go live.

Stream Subway Surfers step by step

  1. Open Super Simple IRL and tap This Screen

Launch the app and choose This Screen as your source. This tells the app to capture your phone display instead of a camera.

  2. Add your SRT URL and set the bitrate

Go to Settings, paste in your srt:// destination, and set a target bitrate your upload can hold. Around 3 to 4 Mbps is a safe start.

  3. Turn Device audio on for game sound

If you want viewers to hear Subway Surfers, turn Device audio on in the app. Leave it off if you only want your mic.

  4. Tap go live and accept the capture prompt

Hit go live. Android shows a screen capture prompt, so tap Start now to allow it. The app begins sending your screen.

  5. Open Subway Surfers and play

Switch over to Subway Surfers and start a run. The app keeps capturing in the background while you play.

  6. You are live

Every run and every high score is now going out to your stream. Start dodging trains and enjoy it.

Tips for a clean stream

Turn on Do Not Disturb

Screen capture shows everything, including your notifications. Turn on Do Not Disturb so private messages and alerts do not pop up on stream.

Keep the screen awake

If your screen sleeps, the capture goes dark. Set a longer screen timeout so the display stays on through your session.

Play in portrait

Subway Surfers runs in portrait, so play in portrait to match the game and fill the frame cleanly.

Chat between runs

Runs are fast and demand your full attention. Read chat and reply in the gaps between runs, not while you are dodging trains.

Watch your data

A live upload over your SIM uses real mobile data. Keep an eye on your plan so a long session does not surprise you.

  • Resolution: 720p is plenty for a phone game and keeps the bitrate manageable.
  • Frame rate: 30 fps works well, and 60 fps suits the fast motion if your data allows.
  • Codec: H.265 for better quality at a lower bitrate, if your destination supports it.
  • Bitrate: a value your upload can hold, around 3 to 4 Mbps for mobile data.

Frequently asked questions

Can I stream Subway Surfers without a PC or capture card?

Yes. Super Simple IRL captures your phone screen and sends it out over SRT, so you can stream Subway Surfers with just your phone. You do not need a PC, a capture card, or any extra gear to go live.

Do viewers hear the game audio?

They can. Turn on Device audio in Super Simple IRL and the game sound goes out with your video. Leave it off if you only want your mic. See the screen casting basics for more.

Will streaming drain my battery?

Running the game, the screen, and a live upload at once uses more power than playing alone. Carry a power bank for longer sessions, and lower your bitrate a little if you need more time.

Can I play and read chat at the same time?

Subway Surfers runs are fast, so it is hard to read chat mid run. Chat between runs instead. The game is easy to jump in and out of, which makes it great for talking with your audience.
